Life at The Beer Store
Learn more about our friendly, genuine, and fun culture!
Although we employ over 6,500 team members across Ontario, our culture is often described as friendly, genuine and fun culture! Beer Store team members can look forward to a variety of fundraising initiatives to give back to the community or employee events to bring people together such as summer barbeques, sports tournaments, beer tastings, holiday events and more. We make it our business to demonstrate a genuine interest in our people, so it’s no surprise that the average tenure of a Beer Store employee is over 7 years!
Our Employee Brand Ambassador Program
One of the ways that we establish our welcoming and inclusive work environment is through our Employee Brand Ambassador Program. The Employee Brand Ambassador Program brings together a group of diverse, passionate, and high-performing employees from across the Organization to help us live our core values, foster a positive employee experience, and drive an inclusive organizational culture. Throughout their 1-3 year term, Brand Ambassadors act as the voice of our employees and provide the Organization with valuable feedback, ideas, and suggestions. In turn, Brand Ambassadors receive a variety of personal and professional development opportunities to further their personal growth & career aspirations!

Giving Back, It's What We Do
The Beer Store is proud to be part of the community. Your community. We believe that if you’re going to be part of the community, you should also give back to it. We have a number of charitable organizations that we partner with, to help raise awareness as well as much needed funds. Each of our retail locations has coin boxes that will allow you to make a donation to one or more of our charitable partners throughout the year.
We are proud to fundraise and give back to various charitable organizations such as the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, The BlackNorth Initiative, Black Mental Health Canada, Rainbow Railroad, the Downie and Wenjack Foundation, the Assaulted Women's Helpline, Holiday Helpers, Habitat for Humanity, The Juravinski Cancer Centre, Roger's House, local hospitals and foodbanks, and many more.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada
At The Beer Store, we collect donations year-round for the The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, the charity of choice for the union representing frontline workers in Ontario, UFCW Local 12R24. Over the course of 20+ years, The Beer Store and UFCW Local 12R24’s contributions have raised over $20 million dollars that has helped fund life-enhancing research and providing educational resources, services and support for people affected by blood cancers and their families.
2023 Bottle Drive
On Saturday, May 27th, our 420+ retail stores hosted our annual The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) Bottle Drive, raising funds to help the LLSC's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. 🩸
This was the first in-person bottle drive we have been able to host in several years, and wow, our employees, customers and communities sure didn't disappoint. From live music, to giveaways, to face painting and more, there was no end to the creativity, excitement and passion for fundraising across our retail stores. To those that showed up, helped organize, volunteered, and donated: we can't thank you enough. Cheers to you!
