The Role

We are currently searching for an Accounts Payable Analyst within the Finance Division, reporting to the Supervisor, Shared Services. This is a full-time, 12-month contract opportunity.

Location

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer a hybrid work model with visits into the office a minimum of twice per week and on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide SAP support to other team members
  • Identify opportunities to improve utilization of SAP for Accounts payable processing to create efficiencies
  • Perform vendor statement reconciliations, investigating aged items and working with vendors to resolve disputes
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, preparing journal entries as required adhering to month end close timelines
  • Assist with payment proposals/runs including cheques, EFTs, and wires
  • Assist the supervisor to document SAP processes and prepare training manuals for the Accounts payable team
  • Establish and maintain monthly GRIR reconciliation process in SAP
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices resolving quantity and pricing discrepancies as required
  • Support the audit and upload of utilities billings for payment
  • Manage Accounts payable inbox and develop reporting to track AP metrics and department statistics
  • Assist with review and auditing of employee expense reports ensuring proper approvals are obtained and expenses comply with corporate policy
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience in Accounts Payable
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience utilizing all AP Functions within SAP

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and positively with multiple departments, vendors and auditors
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly motived, enthusiastic, self-starter, pro-actively identifying and resolving issues and areas of improvement
  • Knowledge of tax laws, including, but not limited to provincial and federal corporate taxes, provincial sales tax and federal GST/HST
  • Good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procurement practices
