The Role

We are currently searching for Centralized Routing Agent reporting to the Assistant Manager, Centralized Routing. This is a Full-Time Permanent opportunity. The schedule for this role is typically Sunday to Thursday (4:30pm-12:30am EST), however, the availability to work other shifts when needed, is necessary to succeed in this role. 

Location

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON.  We offer Remote/Hybrid Flex work with visits into the office on an as-needed basis depending on their role and function.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Responsible for route planning of all types of packages (DC Direct, Cross-docks and Business Partners Direct) using the rules and standards set out by the Centralized Routing Team (CRT), relating to truck capacity, labour hours (time capacity) and time windows (for customers)
  • Create all required reports from the Site Planning Solution – Dispatch Reports and any other/new reports that may be required
  • Review daily requirements for planning i.e., Monitoring Centralized Routing Inbox, Truck Schedule and Availability List, DC Special Requirements (Customers and Service Requests)
  • Request updates to Customer Master Data (Unloading Points, Time Windows, O4S Data and Text) from the Logistics Division
  • Work with CRT to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
  • Assess and report all potential risks and issues to Supervisor or Manager
  • Maintain and update GEOTAB data for Distribution Centres and Cross-docks
  • Update the assignment of vehicles to the planned routes in our GPS system (GEOTAB)
  • Analyze gaps between planned and actual data
  • Review and analyze detail exceptions to the planning rules/processes for effective and efficient process improvements
  • Assist other team members through shared knowledge and expertise
  • Actively participate in team meetings
  • Assisting the Manager, Centralized Routing, designate or team member(s) as required
  • Assess, prepare recommendations, and report any unusual circumstances, potential problems, pertinent information, both of a complaint or complementary nature, to the Supervisor/Manager
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • University or College Graduate; related work experience will be considered

Experience

  • 2-4 years experience in Logistics or related field, strong preference for current employees with previous routing experience
  • Familiar in using routing software (ORTEC, Roadnet etc.)
  • Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset

Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Able to analyze data
  • Effective time management skills, ability to work under pressure due to tight departmental schedules and willing to work until the task is completed
  • Excellent levels of communication both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking initiative and following through on work assignments
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with peers, leaders, internal and external customers.
