The Role

We are currently searching for an Employee Relations Coordinator, reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Relations. This is a 12-month, Full-Time Contract opportunity. The Employee Relations Coordinator will assist the Employee Relations team with the daily activities of the department including file management, tracking, reporting, and other administrative duties.

Location

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer a hybrid work model with visits into the office a minimum of twice per week and on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support Employee Relations team with research into legislative changes, as well as research evidence for third party hearings as required
  • Assist with the development and presentation of training related to Collective Agreement and Employee Relations initiatives and programs
  • Maintain seniority lists, internal trackers (discipline, grievance and investigation), report on trends, and communicate to field as required
  • Support field with recruiting, including creation of job postings and offers and aide with the interview process as required
  • Scan documentation and upload into department’s SharePoint
  • Provide assistance to field with drafting of template letters
  • Ensure employee files are up to date
  • Assist the Employee Relations team with administrative tasks related to the attendance management program 
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
     

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field required

Experience

  • 1-3 years experience in administrative roles within HR or other related field is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment would be a strong asset
  • Experience with contract administration, collective bargaining, and arbitration hearings would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience working within a retail or distribution center environment considered an asset

Skills

  • Understanding of, and the ability to interpret provincial legislation as it relates to labour relations and labour codes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Superior multi-tasking, critical thinking, and communication skills (including written, oral and interpersonal)
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely and efficient responses
