The Role

We are currently searching for a Process & Project Engineer – Delivery & Fleet, reporting to the Senior Manager, Project Engineering.  This vacancy is a full-time, permanent opportunity.  The Process & Project Engineer - Delivery & Fleet is responsible for designing, optimizing, and digitally enabling the national transportation network for operating warehouses in every Canadian province. The role combines transport engineering, digital platform architecture, and transportation hardware optimization to deliver a high‑performance, compliant, and scalable logistics network. This position plays a central role in aligning physical transportation assets (vehicles, hardware, infrastructure) with digital logistics platforms (TMS, telematics, analytics, ERP) to improve service reliability, asset utilization, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainability across a complex, multi‑jurisdictional environment.

Location

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We welcome applicants based in Ontario. This role follows a flexible work model that includes a blend of remote work and time at Company worksites. The position also requires approximately 10–15% travel to our sites across our operating provinces, including Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead national transportation network strategy, including route planning, mode selection, fleet utilization, and carrier management, to meet cost and service targets
  • Optimize end‑to‑end transportation flows across breweries, suppliers, cross‑docks, DCs, and customer delivery points
  • Develop routing models, lane strategies, and consolidation opportunities to improve efficiency, capacity, and on‑time delivery performance
  • Support facility openings and network expansions by designing and optimizing layouts, docks, traffic flow, and site access
  • Design and enhance an integrated digital transportation ecosystem (TMS, WMS, telematics, dispatch, ERP), ensuring seamless data flow and real‑time visibility
  • Define technical/functional requirements and oversee platform integrations, hardware standards, and national technology rollouts
  • Manage telematics, ELDs, mobility hardware, yard systems, and emerging IoT/AI‑enabled devices through lifecycle evaluation, deployment, and refresh cycles
  • Analyze transportation KPIs, telematics data, costs, utilization, and emissions to identify trends and drive actionable performance improvements
  • Apply analytics, automation, AI, and scenario modelling to support network design, forecasting, and operational decision‑making
  • Ensure compliance with federal/provincial transportation regulations, cold‑chain standards, and safety requirements; conduct risk assessments and contingency planning
  • Lead fleet lifecycle planning, including service‑life analysis, maintenance strategies, asset replacement, and total‑cost‑of‑ownership optimization
  • Drive continuous improvement, sustainability initiatives, and cost‑reduction measures, including carbon‑reduction and efficiency programs
  • Manage transportation projects end‑to‑end, including redesigns, technology implementations, tenders, budgets, risks, and cross‑functional teams
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams, carriers, 3PLs, regulators, and external stakeholders to support nationwide operations
  • Prepare business cases, technical reports, and executive‑level recommendations; serve as subject matter expert for transportation systems and technologies
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MEng, MSc) considered an asset
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng)/PE designation required
  • Certification in one of the following is preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP), Change Management (CMP), Six Sigma/LEED, MOST

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in project engineering within manufacturing, production, warehouse distribution or process industries in Canada
  • Experience supporting multi site, national distribution networks (CPG, beverage, food, or retail preferred)
  • Proven experience designing or deploying digital logistics platforms and transportation hardware systems
  • Experience in regulated operating environments is strongly preferred
  • Experience leading national transportation technology or hardware rollouts and supporting fleet sustainability or carbon tracking initiatives is an asset
  • Familiarity with Canadian provincial alcohol distribution models is preferred
  • Experience supporting fleet sustainability and carbon tracking initiatives, with expertise in maintenance and preservation strategies, life‑cycle planning, durability, and asset management is considered an asset

Skills

  • Technical Engineering Knowledge and Proficiency: Core understanding of transport engineering principles, design, and industry-specific standards, as required in a distribution environment.
  • Proficiency in industry standard software tools like CAD, industry standard software as required for design simulation, reviews and modeling
  • Project Management Skills: Critical for handling schedules, budgets, resources, and timelines
  • Familiarity with tools like MS Project. Includes risk assessment, cost estimation, and quality assurance
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
  • Problem-Solving, Analytical, and Organizational Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze data, manage multiple tasks, and ensure compliance with safety/regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA)
  • Strong expertise in TMS platforms, telematics systems, and route optimization tools
  • Experience with data analytics (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau or equivalent)
  • Understanding of transportation hardware architectures, IoT devices, and edge to cloud systems
  • Advanced Excel and analytical modelling skills
  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to travel to support critical activities/milestones throughout the project life cycle

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $93,000-$116,200 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
