The Role

We are currently searching for a Project Manager, Real Estate & Construction, reporting to the Director, Real Estate.  This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.  This role will oversee and execute real estate projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.  This role serves as a bridge between stakeholders, including property owners/landlords, contractors, architects, and internal teams, to manage all aspects of major repairs and replacements, renovations and other leasing projects that align with the company’s strategic goals and plans.  

Location

Our Corporate Office is currently located in Bolton, ON. This is a field-based role with visits to the office on an as-needed basis. Important Note: As part of our continued growth, we are relocating our Corporate Office to Milton, ON with a planned entry at the end of 2027. Up to 30% of business travel is required to support organizational needs, therefore a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.

What You'll Be Doing

Manage major repair, renovation, and expansion projects across retail and logistics locations, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business needs

Coordinate and oversee external contractors and service providers, maintaining a database of preferred vendors and negotiating pricing for services

Conduct site visits to assess project scope, obtain quotes, schedule work, and ensure compliance with deadlines and performance standards

Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements, including Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permits, health and safety policies, and Designated Substance Survey (DSS) guidelines

Oversee project budgets and financials, tracking expenditures, forecasting costs, and reporting to finance and senior management

Plan and coordinate maintenance operations for retail and logistics locations, ensuring the timely resolution of maintenance issues

Ensure contractor compliance with health and safety documentation, ISN certification, and insurance requirements

Track and manage annual repair/capital budgets, optimizing expenditures and identifying potential cost savings

Support the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management, including updates on capital projects, maintenance programs, and financial forecasts

Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
 

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, real estate, facility or construction management, or a related field
  • Certification in Project Management or related fields (ie. CFM, PMP an asset)

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of proven relevant work experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the real estate industry, retail, or other related fields such as construction, property development, or facilities management
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and programs within the business simultaneously, on time and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, lease agreements, and maintenance management

Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, DSS reports, and ESA compliance
  • Financial acumen for budget management and forecasting
  • Strong skills in planning, executing, and closing projects, including developing timelines, managing budgets, and ensuring deliverables are met
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees across all levels of the organization
  • Strong negotiation skills for dealing with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve project issues. Lease experience/extrapolation skills as it relates to maintenance and repair obligations, is an asset
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, familiarity with project management software (ie. Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools) and other relevant software (ie. CAD for construction projects) an asset

Compensation

Salary range? Yup, we’ve got one: $83,000-103,700 CAD per hour. But here’s the real deal - if you’re the perfect brew of experience, skills, and personality, we’re open to exploring beyond the range. Tell us what you’re working with, and let’s pour over it together.
