The Role
We are currently searching for a Senior Internal Auditor reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit. This vacancy is a full-time, permanent opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, performing and reporting on financial, operational, compliance and IT internal audits for The Beer Store (TBS) and Brewers Distributor Ltd. (BDL).
Location
Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer a hybrid work model with visits into the office a minimum of three times per week and on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform financial, operational, compliance and IT internal audits as assigned by the Senior Manager of Internal Audit; ensuring that the audit plan is completed on time and on budget
- For each audit project, identify the scope, design the audit program and perform a risk and control assessment using the company's audit methodology
- Evaluate processes and internal controls for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance to corporate policies
- Prepare audit work papers to document test results, findings and conclusions

Produce and present audit reports with insights and recommendations to management.
- Periodically follow-up on outstanding Management Action Plans (MAPs) to determine if historical issues have been resolved
- Conduct special investigations, assignments or ad hoc Management requests as directed by Manager of Internal Audit
- Travel throughout Ontario (10-15% travel required)
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and/or Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation(s) an asset
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations would be an asset
- Bachelor's degree or comparable relevant work experience
Experience
- Experience in retail, logistics, wholesale or consumer foods/beverage industries would be an asset
- 3+ years’ experience in internal or external auditing
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees across all levels of the organization
- Thorough understanding of IIA standards and interpretive guidance as well as practical application of audit techniques
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Compensation
The hiring range for this position is $73,900 - $92,400 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
