The Role
We are currently searching for a Senior Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), reporting to the Director, Project Management Office (PMO). This vacancy is a full-time permanent opportunity. As a senior leader within the Project Management Office, the Senior Manager plays a key role in advancing business‑critical initiatives for The Beer Store (TBS) and Brewers’ Distributor Ltd. (BDL). This role provides leadership across strategic priorities, partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver complex, multi‑streamed programs while strengthening a culture of project management excellence. Balancing hands‑on delivery with thought leadership, the Senior Manager contributes to the design, evolution, and continuous improvement of PMO practices to support organizational strategy and build a high‑performing, delivery‑focused organization.
Location
Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer a hybrid work model with visits into the office a minimum of three times per week and on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.
What You'll Be Doing

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic programs and enterprise‑wide projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scope, timelines, and budgets

Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management, executive sponsors, business stakeholders, and external vendors to support successful project delivery

Define project and program scope, goals, and deliverables in partnership with business owners, product leaders, and cross‑functional teams

Develop and manage detailed work plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans, tracking progress against milestones, KPIs, and PMO standards

Coordinate and lead cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment across parallel initiatives

Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, facilitating decision‑making, managing expectations, and providing clear, timely status updates

Monitor project and vendor performance, addressing risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalating appropriately to sponsors and leadership when required

Partner with internal business users to understand requirements, translate needs into technical or process improvements, and present findings and recommendations

Drive continuous improvement by enhancing program and project management processes, methodologies, and tools

Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation, ensuring teams are prepared and aligned for successful execution

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education
- Master’s Degree, Arts Management
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is required
Experience
- 8 – 10 years of Project Management experience
- 5 – 10 years managing project budgets
- Experience managing multiple projects across a matrix organization
- Experience using tools and approaches associated with Project Management best practices
- Experience managing multiple project streams at one time
- Experience deploying system upgrades
Skills
- Excellent project management, analytical, risk management, implementation, vendor management, organizational, and customer service skills
- Expertise in project management methodologies such as Scrum, and Agile methodologies, understanding of full project/product lifecycle, problem-solving, data analysis, and proficiency with project management tools
- Ability to relate to all levels of shareholders, including senior management team, employees & external partners
- Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate with team members and external partners
- Results-oriented mindset with strong leadership skills
- Capable of employing both a tactical and strategic approach as appropriate to guide high-profile projects
- Strong technical knowledge and hands on experience with documenting business requirements, producing technical specifications, system implementations, integrations, testing and support of business and technology solutions
- Proven ability to coordinate cross functional teams of IT professionals, business executives, and other key stakeholders towards common goals and objectives
- Ability to take ownership of multiple medium to large sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
- Excellent time management and organizational skills adept at effectively dealing with multiple competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
- Has a wide range of excellent communication and presentation skills: excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with peers and subordinates, leaders, customers, union representatives, employees, and shareholders
- Proficient in use of technology to create, facilitate, and track projects (Microsoft Project, JIRA Projects)
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the business from a corporate, IT, retail, and logistic perspective
Compensation
