The Role

We are currently searching for a Stewardship Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Stewardship Financial Analysis and Reporting.  This vacancy is a full-time, permanent position.  This role will conduct financial, operational, and geospatial reporting activities related to sustainability, stewardship and recycling, primarily for TBS but with support for BDL.  Additionally, the Stewardship Analyst will contribute to the preparation of the Ontario Annual Stewardship Report, supporting the completion of regulatory reporting requirements.

Location

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. This is a field-based role with visits to the office on an as-needed basis. Up to 10% of business travel is required, therefore a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage and review monthly commodity tracking and oversee aluminum booking processes across ON (and support BC/MB), ensuring compliance with contract terms and providing analysis to support adherence and negotiations
  • Collect, validate, and report bi-weekly returns data to the ON Ministry of Finance while maintaining ODRP return rate files and producing regular internal and quarterly summary reports
  • Manage purchase orders and coordinate weekly data collection from recycling service providers to track commodity shipments, revenue, and processing rates
  • Oversee invoicing and receivables, ensuring timely billing, issue resolution, and on-time payments in collaboration with the AR team
  • Process and validate recycling invoices, track activity for accurate period reporting, and prepare monthly payment summaries
  • Support financial reporting and month-end processes, including accruals, audit support, and analysis of recycling volumes, revenue, and variances
  • Analyze and translate return rate trends by container type into actionable insights to support stewardship and operational decision-making
  • Contribute to the Ontario Stewardship Report through data collection, validation, and analysis
  • Support cross-functional and external stewardship projects by delivering data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Develop and interpret GIS-based analysis of sales and returns coverage, providing trend insights and strategic recommendations
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or a similar discipline with a focus on analysis, data management and/or project management
  • Certification in project management is an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in financial analysis or data management accounting OR comparable operational experience coupled with analytical experience
  • GIS mapping software experience is an asset

Skills

  • Superior skills in Excel, as well as creating/updating complex spreadsheets for modeling and data analysis tools required, with the proven ability to communicate same to variety of audiences with varied levels of financial expertise
  • Proven experience in filtering through large amounts of data and summarizing key aspects into briefings/recommendations that can be used for decision making that challenges the status quo is essential
  • Demonstrated experience briefing groups at all levels of management on data-based quantitative results and recommendations, and fielding follow up questions
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including presentation skills, report drafting and briefing notes preparation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and audits under tight timelines, drive cross-functional results, and collaborate effectively as a self-motivated team player

Compensation
