The Role

We are currently searching for a Supervisor, Talent Management, reporting to the Manager, Human Resources.   This is a 16-month, Full-Time Contract opportunity.  This role will oversee innovative human resources initiatives, programs, and projects to further advance strategic objectives, employee experience, and the evolution of our culture and core values.  This role will manage one direct report, HR Specialist, who will assist in the tactical execution and day-to-day administration of organization-wide HR/employee experience programs.  

Location

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer Remote/Hybrid Flex work with visits into the office on an as-needed basis, depending on the role and function. The incumbent for this role must possess a valid driver’s license with access to transportation to travel to our Corporate Office approximately 2 times per month, on an as needed basis. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage the employee experience strategy that ensures our vision, mission and core values are infused throughout the employee lifecycle journey
  • Lead the execution of organization-wide employee engagement surveys, including design, implementation, integration, action planning, communication, measurement, and post-survey evaluation
  • Manage organization-wide employee recognition programs and develop new programs, as needed, to achieve our strategic people & culture objectives
  • Oversee onboarding/offboarding, engagement, recognition, performance and talent development to support our people leaders
  • Oversee the offboarding process for voluntary non-union resignations, conduct exit interviews for management level employees, and compile monthly analytics reporting for the Senior Management Team
  • Oversee talent programs inclusive of performance management, objective setting, and succession planning with the purpose of strengthening our internal talent pipeline, enhancing high-potential retention, and supporting succession plans for key roles across the organization
  • Work with people leaders to assess high-potential employees or underperforming employees; which may include the development of Individual Development Plans (IDP) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and/or exit strategies, providing coaching where required
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of talent management systems, programs, and processes through surveys, assessments, and feedback to identify gaps and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of wellness related programs, events, and initiatives throughout the year; leverage key vendor partnerships when needed
  • Monitor and track the performance of EFAP and mental health & wellness programs and continually evolve program offerings
  • Develop and execute a calendar of engaging in-person and virtual events
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
     

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Completion of Post Secondary education in Human Resources Management or Organizational Development
  • Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP), Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) would be an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Talent Management
  • Minimum 5 years of solid experience in designing and implementing Talent Management projects
  • Minimum 5 years of experience creating and facilitating engaging presentations, training material, and virtual/in-person learning programs
  • Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS): Experience with SAP SuccessFactors an asset
  • Previous experience working for an organization with a unionized environment would be considered an asset

  • Strong project & program management skills including research, design, communication, implementation, stakeholder engagement and analysis
  • Superior communication skills (listening, verbal, written, and facilitation) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong internal and external relationship-building, influencing and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrates time management skills by maintaining focus on priority tasks and understanding the time requirements.
  • Drives a continuous improvement and solutions-oriented mindset, takes initiative, and pro-actively seeks opportunities to add value
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of relevant Employee and Labour Legislation within our operating provinces
