The Role
We are currently searching for a Supervisor, Operations reporting to the Manager, Operations. This is a full-time permanent opportunity. The availability to work all shifts in a 24-hour operation is a requirement for this role.
Location
On-site at the Calgary Distribution Centre
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of fleet and equipment and coordination of their delivery and return with dispatchers
- Training of new and existing employees and performance management
- Ensure vendors/service providers are meeting the needs of the operation in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Advise drivers on fleet/equipment related questions and provide training where necessary
- Monitoring fleet related key budgetary accounts and ensure cost targets are met
- Ensure the company’s Health and Safety, Operational and Budgetary efficiencies are met
- Exemplify the Company’s dedication to customer service
- Other responsibilities involve Inventory, Quality Control, and Audit compliance
- Maintain adherence to company fleet policies and regulations
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-informed decisions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related projects and duties as required
Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post secondary education considered an asset
Experience
- 3+ years of Supervisory experience preferred
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of operations experience
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment would be a strong asset
- Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset
Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- The ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion
- Proven leadership ability to effectively manage the team of direct reports
- Above average communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Ministry of Transportation and WCB regulations
- Proficiency with core Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Forms and OneDrive
