The Role

We are currently searching for a motivated Supervisor, Operations - Automation to oversee warehouse operations in a dynamic, automated, and unionized environment. This is a full-time, 12 month contract opportunity and reports to the Assistant Manager, Automation. This role combines hands-on operation of robotic equipment with leadership responsibilities, including supervising employees, managing performance, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). The availability to work all shifts in a 24-hour operation is a requirement for this role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide leadership and front-line supervision of employees in an automated and unionized warehouse environment
  • Hands on operation of robotic automation equipment including alarm recovery, diagnostics, and analysis
  • Managing performance of employees
  • Responsible and accountable for daily throughput numbers and automation KPI
  • Planning, organizing, and managing workflows to maintain efficient and effective warehouse operations
  • Able to understand and demonstrate strong business acumen
  • Ensure that customer service targets and goals are successfully met
  • Ensure the company’s Health and Safety, Operational and Budgetary efficiencies are met
  • Perform other related projects and duties as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post secondary Degree or Diploma is required

Experience

  • 1-3 years of mechanical, electrical or instrumentation experience is required
  • 5+ years of related experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required, within a manufacturing, warehousing, and/or distribution facility setting preferred
  • Previous experience using HMI (Operator Interface) to operate automated equipment would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience with robotics or related equipment would be considered an asset

Skills

  • Understanding of, and the ability to interpret provincial legislation as it relates to labour relations and labour codes
  • Demonstrated people management skills and leadership qualities
  • Strong time management skills, works well under pressure and with tight timelines.
  • Strong problem solving skills: able to define the problem and generate appropriate solutions in a timely manner
  • Superior multi-tasking, critical thinking, and communication skills (including written, oral and interpersonal)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

The base hourly rate for this position will range between $35.53/hour and $44.42/hour.
